Tim Salcedo

Tim Salcedo came to Green Lake School in 1991. He enjoys reading, travel, gardening, and art, and loves being a lifelong learner.

He has Bachelor of Science degrees in Fine Arts and Education from the University of Oregon and a Master of Education degree in Educational Technology and Learning from City University, Bellevue.

I love being at Green Lake! My students are my passion, but the parents and staff make my job that much sweeter.

While I have taught nearly every grade in Elementary School, Kindergarten is my favorite! I hold a Master's in Education from Antioch University and have a background in Child Development and Museum Education.  I have been teaching in Seattle Public Schools for over five years.

Kate Sipe


Kate Sipe joined the Green Lake school in fall of 2004. She began teaching in 2001, teaching not only Health and Fitness (PE), but as a 3rd grade classroom teacher and primary support teacher as well as coaching competitive swimming from 1993 to 2007. Read more.

Joe Kunkel


Mr. Kunkel has been teaching at Green Lake for 6 years with a Masters’ degree in teaching. He did his student teaching here at GLES and was hired on the next year and has taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.

Green Lake School has been my teaching home base for several years and I consider myself lucky to work within my own community. Having three recent graduates of Roosevelt High School I am very aware of what educational needs Green Lake students have for their current academic level and their future school years.

I have been here since 1989 and have been the art teacher since 1994. One of the best parts of this job is getting to know and teaching all the students and teaching them for several years.
