Our school is sponsoring a Diaper Drive to support families in need in our community. FamilyWorks in Wallingford hands out over 1,800 diapers and 30 packs of wipes per month (!) and they need help getting supplies to families. Our goal is to supply them with at least 2 months of diapers (that's 3,600 diapers!) and 60 packs of wipes. There are three ways to help out. Questions? Contact: email@example.com
(1) Donate funds - Just $15 can supply 80 diapers! Contributions for diapers can be made via the FamilyWorks website as a one-time or monthly contribution with “GLES Diaper Drive” in the ‘honor of’ box on the donation page - https://www.familyworksseattle.org/donate-online *Contributions are tax deductible.
(2) Donate diapers & unscented wipes - Add it to your Costco list! A donation box is available inside the GLES front doors until April 19th. Bring donations when you come to Literacy Night (April 2nd) or volunteer for Young Author's Day (April 3rd). Sizes most in need include Size 1, 3, 5, 6 and both 2T-3T and 4T-5T pull-ups. Diapers and wipes must be in sealed packages. For sanitary reasons, open packages cannot be accepted.
Use the GLES Amazon site to purchase diapers and make a contribution to GLES too! https://www.amazon.com/?tag=greendrago-20 Value brands: Amazon Brand (80 diapers for $15!), Pampers, Huggies
(3) Donate time - Parents and kids are invited to volunteer on Saturday, April 20th, for a 1 hour shift. Two shifts are available: 10am-11am and 11am-12pm at FamilyWorks (1501 N 45St). Volunteers will make diaper bundles and repackage wipes. We are looking for 10 volunteers for each shift right now but that number may increase depending on the number of diapers donated. FamilyWorks' Food Bank will also be open that day and families will have the chance to see how it operates. Sign up to volunteer today - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0e49acaa22abf58-gles
