The PTA needs your help! If you’ve ever considered volunteering for a role with the PTA, now is the time as we have several important roles that need to be filled. Many of these roles have a small time commitment and can be done without physically being at the school. Below is a short summary of open positions. Please reach out to Amy or Sarah at email@example.com with any questions or for more information!
Board Positions: Take a seat at the table! Join the PTA board and learn about all of the different things the PTA does for our school.
Multi-Arts Chair – In charge of vocal music, artist-in-residence and 2-3 enrichment assemblies. The planning has already been done for this year so it’s a perfect time to learn the role with a minimal time commitment!
Facilities Chair - Serves on the school safety committee as the liaison between SPS and PTA regarding safety and building issues. Attends periodic GLES safety meetings and PTA board meetings. All year long commitment but only a few hours a month.
Volunteer Coordinator – Help lead the charge in finding volunteers for some of our biggest events! Our current volunteer coordinator has been in the role for many years and will work concurrently with the new person for the rest of the year – a perfect opportunity to get involved if you are new to the school!
Reader board – great for someone who is regularly at the school, maybe for drop off or pick up. The reader board is the big green sign in front of the school. It is updated with predetermined messages twice per month.
Staff Appreciation – Help us show our teachers how great they are! This position organizes several staff appreciation lunches throughout the year. Generally the food is donated by parents and there is a small budget to help fill in any gaps in donations.
