What happens when we find ourselves in the middle of a conflict with someone we are in community with? This workshop will focus on those instances when we feel deeply attached to our view points and have difficulty imagining and navigating differing perspectives. These moments can be especially challenging when the disagreements are cross-cultural and deeply connected to our realities and lived experiences. Borrowing from the work of Glenn Singleton and Cultures Connecting, and focusing on individual and collective values concerning school climate, Dr. Felder, Delbert Richardson, and Tilman Smith will provide a model for navigating these moments as well as opportunities for participants to practice new skills that can lead to desired goals for the school community.
