The GLES tree sale nearly didn't happen this year. Our longtime tree farmer retired and we used a new tree broker referred to us by the Pacific Northwest Christmas Tree Growers Association. Last Tuesday we learned that despite our substantial payment in full for trees, we would not be getting any. Needless to say, it was a tough week tracking down the trees we rightfully paid for and figuring out how to get them to Seattle. We were not the only charitable organization affected by this broker. Here's an article about a Boy Scout group in California who had a similarly traumatizing Thanksgiving week! Read Here.
Thank you for supporting our Tree Sale and for all of our amazing volunteers! Our tree selection is a bit different this year, but they are gorgeous and we are grateful for every single one of them!
And now that we have our inventory on hand, it's time to continue working on getting our volunteer shifts filled. As a reminder, we're trying things a bit differently this year in that different grades are "assigned" different weeks in order to promote community among friends and classmates. However, please note, if your student's week doesn't work for your schedule, we would love to have anyone and everyone sign up for whatever slot does.
