Holiday Tree Sale

The Green Lake Tree Sale is one of our longest running traditions. Since 1985, families, neighbors, alumni, and volunteers have gathered on the school grounds to kick off the holiday season together, all while raising essential funds for PTA supported programs. 100% of proceeds go to supporting our students!

What We Sell

The Tree Sale offers a selection of holiday greenery and seasonal items, including:

  • Fresh cut Christmas trees in a variety of species and sizes
  • Wreaths
  • Tree stands
  • Ornaments and small seasonal items
  • Handmade goods crafted from last year’s tree stumps (a new addition!)

All purchases support PTA programs that benefit every GLES student.

Free hot cocoa and cider are available - a small thank you for supporting our school and a cozy treat on chilly days.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Tree Sale is powered entirely by volunteers, many of whom return year after year. Shifts are fun, social, and a great way to meet other GLES families and neighbors.

Each shift includes:

  • Lot Lead: Helps customers, trims stumps, ties trees to cars, and manages setup/teardown for open/close shifts. Signs high school volunteer forms.
  • Lot Helper: Works alongside the lead to assist customers, carry trees, trim stumps, and tie trees to cars.
  • Tent Volunteer: Staffs the checkout tent, processes payments, and shares information about stands and other items.
  • High School Volunteers: This is a great opportunity to complete volunteer service hours!

Volunteering is a multigenerational tradition! Some families fill entire shifts together, and we’ve even had some three generation volunteer crews.

Equity & Access

The PTA offers tree vouchers for families who need financial support.

Any remaining trees on teardown day are sold at a discount.
