Holiday Tree Sale

Since 1985

The Green Lake Holiday Tree Sale is one of our school’s longest‑running traditions. For decades, families, neighbors, alumni, and volunteers have gathered on the school grounds to kick off the holiday season together.

100% of proceeds support PTA‑funded programs that benefit all Green Lake students.

What to Expect

The Tree Sale offers a festive, community‑driven experience on the GLES playground. You’ll find:

  • Fresh‑cut Christmas trees in a variety of species and sizes
  • Wreaths, tree stands, ornaments, and small seasonal items
  • Handmade goods crafted from last year’s tree stumps
  • Friendly volunteers ready to help with trimming, carrying, and tying trees to cars
  • Free hot cocoa and cider

The weekend before and after the sale are dedicated to setup and teardown work parties.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Tree Sale is powered entirely by volunteers, many of whom return year after year. Shifts are fun, social, and a great way to meet other GLES families and neighbors.

  • Lot Lead: Helps customers, trims stumps, ties trees to cars, manages open/close tasks, and signs high‑school volunteer forms.
  • Lot Volunteer: Helps customers, carries trees, trims stumps, and ties trees to cars.
  • Tent Volunteer: Staffs the checkout tent, processes payments, and shares information about stands and other items.
  • High School Volunteers: This is a great opportunity to complete service hours.

Volunteering is a multigenerational tradition - some families fill entire shifts together, and we’ve even had three‑generation crews.

FAQ

Do trees sell out?

Sometimes, though we try to keep things relatively well-stocked and there are usually several refresh deliveries throughout the sale.

Do you offer financial support?

Yes. The PTA provides tree vouchers for families who need assistance. Any remaining trees on teardown day are sold at a discount.

Can I bring my dog?

Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome on the playground.
