Our PTA is a welcoming community of families, caregivers, and staff who care deeply about supporting our school. Membership is one way to show your support but it is never a prerequisite to participate, volunteer, or attend meetings.

Everyone:

  • Can come to PTA events
  • Can come to PTA meetings
  • Can get the PTA newsletter
  • Benefits from our school's PTA

PTA Members:

  • Can vote at PTA meetings
  • Get access to discounts (care of the WA State and National PTAs)

Everyone belongs here, whether you become a dues‑paying member or not.

 

How to Join or Renew

To join the PTA, you’ll first need to login or make an account. Once you’re logged in, you can complete your membership online.

 

Why Membership Matters

When you join the PTA, you help sustain the programs and supports that make Green Lake feel like home - enrichment, community events, staff appreciation, family assistance, and more.

 

But here’s the real deal: the more official members we have, the more power we have to advocate for our kids and our school when we’re talking to our school’s administration, the district offices and the Seattle Public School’s Superintendent.

 

Membership also includes discounts and perks for through Washington State PTA and National PTA. But most importantly, membership is about connection and having a voice in the work we do together.

Who can be a member?

Parents, caregivers, teachers, and even grandparents are welcome to become members of the Green Lake Elementary PTA!

 

If I become a member, do I need to do a PTA job?

Nope! You can do absolutely nothing and still be a member of the PTA.

 

Do I have to pay to be a member?

No, but… the Green Lake PTA pays a total of $10 for each of our members as dues to the Seattle, WA State, and National PTAs. So if you can help to cover those costs we ask that you please do. You can still be a member even if you cannot pay!

 

About Membership Dues

Washington State PTA requires local PTAs to collect annual dues and remit a portion to the state and national PTAs. Our dues are:

  • $10 per individual
  • Free for anyone who can't afford the membership dues

No one is ever turned away. If cost is a barrier, or if you’d simply prefer not to pay, we can cover or waive the fee. Just reach out to ptapresident@greenlakedragons.org. We want membership to be accessible to every family.

Where Your Dues Go

Your annual membership fee is distributed as follows:

  • Washington State PTA: $5.75
  • National PTA: $3.25
  • Seattle Council PTSA: $1.50 (free for Title 1 schools)
  • Green Lake PTA operating expenses: $1.00
