Programs at Green Lake Elementary

Green Lake Elementary offers a wide range of PTA‑supported programs that enrich learning, build community, and ensure every student has access to joyful, meaningful experiences. Some programs happen during the school day, others take place after school, and all of them help make our school a vibrant, inclusive, and connected place to learn and grow.

 

Below is an overview of the ongoing programs the PTA supports throughout the year.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

After‑school classes offered each Fall, Winter, and Spring through trusted third‑party organizations. Students can explore sports, arts, STEM, language, games, and more. Registration is handled through 6crickets, and scholarships are available.

DRAMA DRAGONS

A beloved multi‑arts program where students, families, and staff come together to create a theatrical production each year. Opportunities include acting, ensemble roles, backstage support, set building, costumes, and more.

Swim Program

A longstanding partnership with Evans Pool that provides free swim lessons for all 2nd graders during the school day. Students build water safety skills and confidence with support from certified instructors and PTA volunteers.

OLALLIE LEARNING GARDEN

A welcoming outdoor learning space where students explore nature, grow plants, and engage in hands‑on environmental learning. Families help care for the garden through seasonal work parties and summer watering.

YEARBOOK

A student‑centered project that captures the spirit of each school year. Students and PTA volunteers gather photos, design pages, and help create a keepsake for the whole community.

SOCIAL JUSTICE & EQUITY PROGRAMS

Programs that strengthen equity, reduce barriers, and support families across our community.

  • Weekly Grocery Program - Provides grocery gift cards to GLES families experiencing financial hardship.
  • Rising Star Partnership - Shares a portion of PTA funds with Rising Star Elementary to support their students and build district‑wide community.

Additional School‑Supported Programs

These programs are part of what makes Green Lake special. While not run by the PTA, they are important for families to know about.

  • Dragon Blocks - A school‑wide program that supports student learning.
  • Playground for All - Our accessible, inclusive playground made possible in part through PTA support.
  • Team A - A program serving medically fragile students from across the district.
